I've recalibrated my moisture sensor a couple of times, but it doesn't seem to be able to accurately measure the moisture in the rocky substrate I have. My terrarium has succulents and I'm using "Bonsai Jack Succulent and Cactus Soil - Jacks Gritty Mix #111" because I was unable to purchase the SmartTerra substrate at the time of the kickstarter and it isn't available for purchase now. The Gritty Mix holds moisture well, but because of the inaccurate readings (fluctuating every few seconds between 0% and up to 36%) it seems like the only way to ensure my plants get enough water is to use the rain demo, which defeats the purpose of an autonomous system! Has anyone had similar issues and how did you resolve them? Should I mix in something (like coconut fiber substrate) to fill the air gaps and get a better reading?

I have the same situation. The only time it rains is when I activate it to do so. I’ve tried calibrating and recalibrating, putting the sensor in different locations, changing parameters, etc. It always reads 100%.
